JOHN LEGARE WILLIAMS, ESQ. is President and Director of The Williams Law Firm, P.A. (www.TrustWilliams.com), where his practice focuses on business transactions and business disputes, much involving LLCs. One case, Bay Guardian v. New Times Media, was dubbed the “Great West Coast Newspaper Wars” and involved issues regarding the Delaware charging order remedy in a California collection action. Mr. Williams also represented Dominion Ventures, LLC, a Series LLC that was involved in Court of Chancery litigation and a subsequent federal bankruptcy filing. He has been interviewed on Delaware entity law issues for television broadcasts from China to Switzerland. Mr. Williams also drafts Delaware opinion letters for real estate financing transactions in the United States and abroad. He has consulted with the Uniform Law Commission on the adoption of series provisions to the Uniform LLC Act. Mr. Williams is also the president of Agents and Corporations, Inc. (www.incnow.com), a registered agent for about 16,000 Delaware entities, including Pinterest. The company has formed more than 1,000 series LLCs over the past ten years. He is a frequent lecturer on LLCs. Mr. Williams is admitted to practice law in Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, and Massachusetts. He is a member of the Richard S. Rodney Inn of Court, the American Bar Association (vice chair, Partnerships and Limited Liability Companies Committee, Real Property Trust and Estates Section). Mr. Williams recently presented a teleconference to the ABA on “Why Every Attorney Should Consider Using the Series LLC for Real Estate.” He has been recognized by Philadelphia Magazine as 2010, 2011 and 2012 “5-Star Wealth Manager” in Estate and Business Planning. Mr. Williams earned his B.A. degree from Williams College and his J.D. degree from Emory University School of Law.
